Safety and terms of use

SIA "Latvijas Propāna gāze" refills gas cylinders with liquified petroleum gas at their gas filling stations located in excise warehouses. All filling stations are certified according to the Republic of Latvia Cabinet Regulation No. 953 adopted on 2009 August 25th Procedures for Technical Supervision of Liquefied Petroleum Gas Cylinder Filling Stations and are registered at Register of Hazardous Equipment.

All cylinders conform to the Republic of Latvia Cabinet Regulation No. 500 adopted on 2011 June 28th Regulations Regarding Transportable Pressure Equipment.

 

Since the client is responsible for cylinder transportation to the point of gas storing and usage, he should fix the cylinders so that during the transportation cylinders do not to move freely and cylinder valves are not damaged.

Liquified petroleum gas in cylinders could be used only in places suitable for this product.

Premises, where gas cylinder setup is prohibited:

  • basements, as well as in premises with open entrance to the basement;
  • living rooms (bedrooms);
  • places located below public premises;
  • premises without natural light.

Residential kitchens where a gas stove with a cylinder is placed, must meet the following requirements:

  • window should have a window leaf or ventilation canal;
  • area for a stove with two rings should be at least 8 m3, with four rings – 15 m3.

Safety measures replacing the cylinder:

  • ventilate the room;
  • ensure that there is no open flame or spark in the room during the process;
  • while replacing the cylinder, only people who are involved in the process are allowed in the room;
  • gas-consuming devices can only be used when all connections to the gas supply system (connection with the stove and reducer, the condition of the rubber hose) are checked with soap emulsion. It is strictly prohibited to determine gas leakage using fire.

Safety measures when using gas cylinder plats:

  • constant air exchange must be provided in the room;
  • gas-consuming devices should not be left without supervision;
  • if gas smell appears in the room, you should open windows and doors to ensure additional air exchange, close valve on the cylinder and gas-consuming devices. Smoking, open flame usage, electrical devices turning on or off is prohibited;

 

  • if gas leakage is detected, close the valve and disconnect reducer. Immediately take the cylinder out of the building and put in a place where gas will not flow in direction to the building, basement, open fire source;
  • it is strictly forbidden to arbitrarily repair a cylinder, valve or reducer. This can cause an accident.
